Summing up Jerusalem isn’t an easy thing to do.  How does one describe a location with 7,000 years of history?  How can mere words illustrate the importance of this city to the Jewish, Christians and Muslim faiths?  How can we express the incredible array of sites, museums and culture on offer without having to produce a document of biblical proportions? 

Because of the above, Jerusalem must be seen to be believed.  From the top of the Mount of Olives to the depths of the Western Wall Tunnels, you’ll be immersed in history and culture every time you turn a corner. 

One of the fascinating things about Jerusalem is that you can take your bible and use it as a guide book!  Here are just a few of the Holy sites, broken down into faiths:

Judaism:

• The Via Dolorosa– path of the 14 stations of the Cross
• Garden of Gethsamane – place where Jesus was arrested
• Church of the Holy Sepulchre– built on the site of Jesus’ crucifixion

Muslim:

• Dome of the Rock– shrine on location of Mohammad’s assention to Heaven
• Al-Aqsa Mosque

• The Peace Forest – a new tree is planted for every child born in Jerusalem, representing the eternal hope of peace bridging the Arab & Jewish populations
• The Knsesset– the House of Representatives of the State of Israel
