Sid (master) Ibrahim’s tomb is built around an enormous old oak tree. Such trees are traditional at the graves of righteous men and women of many religious traditions in Israel.
The Druze revere Sid Ibrahim as a king who left a life of luxury to become an ascetic. Another tradition says that Ibrahim was in charge of weights and measures in the Banias market. He was known for his scrupulousness in carrying out this office, one of the most important in the ancient world.

Next to the tree is a tray of candles lit by the faithful, who come here in large family groups to make vows, pray for healing and share a festive meal. Above the door to the makam, or reception room, is the five-colour symbol of the Druze prophets.

You can enter the room, (remove your shoes first), which has a portrait of departed Druze leader Sheikh Amin Tarif on the wall and mattresses for visitors to sit on.

Sid Ibrahim’s tomb is located on the north side of road 99, about 200 yards east of the turnoff to Banias National Park.
