Ein Hod: A Visit through the Past and the Present

The picturesque artists' village of Ein Hod is located on the slopes of Mt Carmel, overlooking the sea and Atlit fortress. It is the only artists' village in Israel, and one of only a few in the world.

The contemporary art exhibited in the village features a range of paintings and sculptures, prints, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, crafts, glasswork and Judaica.
The artists’ village was established in the 1950s, after a group of artists led by the acclaimed Dada artist Marcel Janco conceived the idea of turning the village of Ein Hod into a place where they could work, build studios and workshops, and form a creative environment for art, art education and to enrich the new and developing nation.
