Free Beach Library in Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv is renowned for its urban beach life, with its award-winning beaches offering a variety of beach experiences and atmospheres. Now visiting the beach in Tel Aviv has become even more interesting, with the recent launch of the free beach library, courtesy of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, positioned on the promenade at the Metzizim Beach near the Tel Aviv port.

Tourists and visitors can just show up at the mobile library, select a title from about 500 books on offer in five languages (Hebrew, Arabic, English, Russian and French) and take the book with them to the beach.

Visitors who do not wish to read a book in the print version, can also use their tablets to connect to the free WiFi that the city provides and download their chosen title.

There is no librarian at the beach library and tourists are expected to return the books. The library will remain open through the summer months.
